Brian Lambert – Of Counsel

   

Brian joined Paradice and Li in 2016. His technical expertise is in a variety of electrical and computer engineering fields, including wired and wireless networking (such as WLAN, Ethernet, and Powerline Communications); wireless, broadband, and other wired communication; and digital signal processing.

 

Brian previously served as Patent Counsel for Qualcomm, Inc., where he
provided services in inventor education, invention mining, domestic and foreign patent prosecution, patent portfolio scoping, technology standards submissions, and due diligence for licensing efforts. Brian also served as Intellectual Property Counsel for the Research Division of International Business Machines, where he assisted in negotiating agreements and licenses (including technology licenses and joint development agreements), supervised preparation and prosecution of patent applications in various research areas (including software and business services applications), educating inventors and interns on the patenting process and invention mining, and reviewing the Research Division’s Open Source submissions and article publications for any potential issues regarding International Business Machines’ intellectual property rights.

 

Before Brian’s time as an in-house attorney, Brian worked as a patent prosecutor for Blakely, Sokoloff, Taylor & Zafman LLP in Sunnyvale, CA, and Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton LLP in Winston-Salem, NC, where he provided patent prosecution services for a range of clients in a multitude of electrical and computer engineering fields.

 

Brian received his B.S. in Mathematics in 2001 and his M.S.E. in Electrical Engineering in 2002, both from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. He also received his J.D. from Case Western Reserve University in 2005.

 

Brian is admitted to practice law in the state of California and is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
