Michael has represented a wide range of technology companies in intellectual property matters since 1994. His clients include start-up companies to Fortune 500 companies. He specializes in patent protection including patent preparation and prosecution, licensing, patent validity and infringement opinions, litigation support, as well as client counseling related to inventor education, invention mining, portfolio building and management.
Michael has a technical background in physics and engineering and has broad experience in a variety of technological areas including optical metrology, wireless technologies (communications and positioning), information technologies (software and networking), LED modules (luminaries and smart lighting), semiconductor processing and processing equipment, disk drives, analog and digital circuits, and programmable logic devices (PLDs).
Michael received a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from the University of California at Irvine and received his Juris Doctor degree from Santa Clara University, graduating magna cum laude in 1994. He served as an extern with the California Supreme Court with Associate Justice Edward A. Panelli and Chief Justice Ronald M. George. Michael joined Skjerven Morrill, LLP in 1994 and was elected partner prior to becoming a founding partner of Silicon Valley Patent Group LLP in 2001. Michael joined Paradice and Li LLP in 2019. Michael is admitted to practice law in the state of California and registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
