Anand Chellappa is Patent Counsel at Paradice & Li LLP. Anand has extensive experience in building and managing global patent and trademark portfolios, patent prosecution, due diligence for IP related M&A, international IP related transactions, product clearances, and licensing and technology transfer. He values his relationship with his clients and works with his clients to align their global IP strategy and IP budget with their long-term commercial roadmaps. Technology areas include chemistry, chemical processes, materials, clean technologies, aerosol technology, and applied life sciences.
Previously, Anand co-founded MesoFuel, Inc. in 2001 and served as CTO and VP R&D prior to its acquisition by UK based Intelligent Energy Ltd. in 2004. He held various leadership roles at Intelligent Energy for 15+ years. He then started ipTekk, LLC in 2015 to provide patent prosecution services and advise small and medium sized companies. He enjoys innovation and is an inventor on about 20 US patents.
Anand earned a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Missouri-Columbia, and a JD cum laude from the University of New Mexico School of Law. While at law school, he served on the New Mexico Law Review editorial board. He is licensed to practice law in the state of New Mexico and is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Anand is based in Albuquerque, NM.
